Today's Apocalypse Sign: Where I Go All Zombie Haiku On Yo Ass! Part Deux

I wanted to finish this A-Z Challenge in an interesting way and introduce some of my new readers to my previously undiscovered brilliance (and there's a lot of THAT!). Therefore I went back in time through my list of posts from current time to find the last post I had with ZERO comments. It happens to have been on May 24th, 2011. Double Z Scrabble points as the post also is about Zombies. And this is it:

------------------------------------

I found another blog today that has some Apocalyptic overtones to it (actually they found me, I suppose by the name of my site). I enjoyed what I found there and thought I would share. Enter their world if you dare...

Your Daily Sota

And while I was there the haiku bug bit me deep and I rattled off a zombie haiku for their Zombie Haiku contest. It ends May 31st so if you are interested, craft a creepy verse and send it to them They won't bite...hard.

Here is my offering...

Dining Out~

Curse in the brain stem
Craving your grey matter now
Blessed the blood flow

In case you weren't sure I fancied my self quite a Haikuist back in the day.
(and Blessed is pronounced as two syllables in this instance, just to clarify)Ed. Note
-----------------------------------------------------

Sadly YourDailySota is no more. They moved on and closed up shop this past January. They had some interesting reading. Alas poor Yorick, I didn't know them well.

It's been another fun A-Z Challenge. For the second year in a row I made the right letters on the right days. And it was a really fast month for some reason. I didn't visit as many blogs as most of you but those I joined in, I was pretty loyal to on a daily basis. I look forward to posting my recap of the whole ordeal and oddly enough, I can't wait til next April...provided December 21, 2012 is much ado about nothing. I will continue to visit new blogs for the near future as time permits. Those new friends I am behind on I will catch up!

Congrats to all who made it the whole way! I can't wait to see what the badge will be for all of us who made the whole trip. I will be proud to sport it prominently.

Thanks Alex and Arlee and all the rest of the hosts for all their efforts to make this Challenge one that will be tough to beat next year (you guys got your work cut out for you:)).

Anyone have a Haiku they want to share? Have you ever written a Haiku?

Zombies, Obama, and haiku with Shakespearean overtones [I almost typed overtoons, as in cartoons...dunno where my mind it this early] ---Anyway, congrats on accomplishing the entire months alphabet posts Chuck. You did good.

As for my haiku [I know it's supposed to be capitalized but I'm lazy]...I have done some - they're linked on my sidebar.

Have a great week.

Congrats on finishing the challenge! Of course, being a zombie enthusiast, I was touched by this wonderful post. Great haiku, and also, not to toot my own horn or anything, but I read 'blessed' with two syllables right off the bat.

I must confess, I've never tried Haiku - maybe I'd better have a go!

Thankyou fora great run of A-Z posts (even if variable Internet connection via phone precluded letting me leave comments every day!)

Thanks also for regularly visiting my blog - I promise to put the whole story up on my blog when I get back from holiday! (Internet access here on the Isle of Wight is patchy at best)

It seems I've come to the right place. My 3rd annual haiku contest begins today. Alas, you can't trot out your zombie verse, but I'm sure you can think of something to say about apocalyptic robots.

Congrats on making it through to the end of (26) days. It's been a fun ride.

Poetry is not my thing!
You did it Chuck. And I didn't visit as many new blogs as I should've. I tried to remain faithful to my blogger buddies first. (And I think almost all of you participated in the Challenge!)

You should check out Scifaikuest -- they publish SF and horror-themed haiku (along with other poetry forms) and pay $1 per ku!

I wrote haikus in school, but not since then. I've been wanting to look up various forms of poetry and play around lately, but that requires time. I figure when school lets out for summer, it will be a fun past time for when I carry my pad around with me everywhere. What better to do while watching the kids play? I like your zombie haiku. I hope you keep sharing some of your creativity with us.

Pat: It was strenuous, and exhilarating, and a damn good time. At least this year I pre-scheduled the first weeks posts and then started working a week ahead until I got almost runover towards the end. X and Y were done just the day prior. Feels good though and met a lot of interesting fellow bloggers.

Anni: Thanks for the congrats...I need to stop by and read some of your Haikus. I used to do them all the time back in school, all those many years ago.

Manzanita: Yes we did! I loved all the Hunza posts and learned about some fascinating people on this planet. Thanks for that!

Chiz: I am sure you did...I picked you for one of the bright ones right off the bat! Congrats back atcha!

Sue: Well I read the whole story again today and really hope you take it to a full blown novel or novella or something...I would love to read more. Great job on the A-Z and very orignal posting.

Johnna: Thanks and same to you on the challenge. You should win something for being the first however that still is not a hard thing to accompish :)

Nate: Sorry I have MIA this week but work buried me the end of April. I am sure I too late for you contest...or am I?? Let me go look.

Alex: I appreciate you taking the time out of your extremely busy schedule to visit me every day. I think I returned the favor and even came close to being the first commenter a couple times. This is has been a great thing these last two years and I look forward to next year!

MJ: Thanks and same to you. Glad you stopped by to visit.

Robyn: Thanks, you wouldn't just be buttering my muffin now would you??

Hilary: I want to be around long enough to visit some of those fantastic castles you wrote about. It is almost like you live in the land of fantasy the way you portrayed all that history. Cheers to you and making the challenge fun and educational.

Sarah: Thanks and same to you...I understand you aren't going on your magical trip overseas...too bad. Don't worry, you will some day.

Clarissa: Thanks Clarissa...I absolutely loved your theme and your stories this year. I think we first met at last years A-Z and I was very poor in commenting on your site this past year although I read it all the time. I will be better this year.

Milo: Don't take this the wrong way but my wife and I used to havge a ferret named Milo and I think of him every time I see your name pop up in my reader list. Don't worry he was really cool. And I will check out the Scifaikuest. I could use a dollar! Great times during the challenge.

Shannon: It's just that when watching the kids play, isn't it a good idea to actually watch them? Nevermind. Thanks for liking my haiku and thanks for posting such interesting stuff about the old west...I learned a lot of things I never knew and was interested every day. I will share more of something that's for sure...have a great summer!

Jessica: Same to you. I am glad you liked the haiku...I am also glad I found your site for continued reading...have fun and gald you made it through the challenge.
