Today's Apocalypse Sign: Fromage De Tete

Trippin' through my local Walmart deli today I had plenty of time to survey the offerings while my meat was being cut (not like THAT!). Since our store caters to a lot of  Hispanic clientele, there are lots of offerings I am not interested in. However, I am always up for a good WTF moment.

Actually this was a What The FUD moment

This is some sort of deli selection that just does not seem appetizing to a foreigner like me (wait a minute, this IS my country!). I wonder what FUD actually stands for. The blue labeled product says it's ham. There are maybe 5 different packaged delicacies marketed under the FUD label.

The red labeled product sort of put me off my appetite. Upon closer inspection, I had not misread it...

It is pork head cheese. Ironically the deli lady had just sliced me a sample of white American cheese and I was muching on that while I was looking at this. I may have gagged a little.

I know the reporter's heavily exposed bosom is a distraction but get through it.

I was particularly intrigued by the mention of activa that is used as meat "glue". The chef even says how it is used to hold chicken McNuggets together. And also that he has no idea what it is! I guess we just call it meat glue and worry about the health issues later
