With a little more than 30 days before I leave on my Fiji trip, I have spent some evening time trying out my new Nikon on sunsets. I even, quite by accident, discovered a unique look to a sunset (by forgetting to remove the FL-D filter before I went out) and wanted to share it.
So today after a long A-Z Challenge and a news week dominated by one topic, here are 8000 words for you to enjoy. Of course clicking to enlarge is mandatory!

PS. Blogger may be the biggest pain in the ass to work with when it comes to photo insertion and movement.

Those are beautiful pictures. ^_^ I love the one with the FL-D #2 filter.
Great photos, Chuck! I expect to see perfect photos of your trip when you return. No pressure!
It's good to see that you having fun with your new camera. Great photos also! I wish I was going to Fiji also. In 10 days we will be leaving for Kauai. Have a great weekend Chuck!
Great photos. Have you tried using the newer way to insert images? Or, going into edit HTML and just move the codes where you want them?
Have a most excellent trip.
Wow. Those last three are really beautiful, Chuck. The swirly clouds look like ocean waves.
Nice colors too.

Misha: Who would have thought that a flourescent filter would have such an effect. Thanks!
Alex: Be careful what you ask for...
Pat: Aloha Pat...have a good time. Certainly you will have some great shots when you get back.
Whisk: I am not sure what the newer way is for inserting images. I have tried the html editor a couple times but I wasn't very good at that. I guess I will just have to keep trying. Thanks.
Robyn: Yeah even my wife said they looked like brush strokes in the sky. It really was pretty cool considering I live in such a large metropolitan city.
Chuck,
Oh, I love them all. But, FL-D #1 is my favorite. I love the repetitive clouds and the purple color. I have not seen either of those in the skies around me.
Thanks for telling me to check them out. Afraid I am way behind on my blog reading and will be getting farther behind. I am leaving tomorrow to take my Mother on a 1500 miles trip to have a last visit with her sister who is on the critical list at present. We hope to be able to also attend a ceremony that is being held on the 15th to honor my 3-great grandfather who served in the American Revolution, if time and circumstances will allow.
I have a newer version going and when I get images from my computer, I can now get a group to upload at once. And then once I insert them, they move about much better. I'm sorry that I don't know how to better explain it. Maybe old editor and new editor?
Rita: Thanks for your kind words. Sounds like you have a mission ahead of you and it looks like a bittersweet trip. Sorry to hear about your Aunt but the American Revolution thing sounds pretty cool. Hope you get to go.
Whisk: I am using the Blogger in Draft version so I am not sure if there is newer version. When I upload the pictures and then insert them, moving them up and down to rearrange takes an act of God. And usually ends up being something I don't want so I delete them and start over. Maybe I look at Blogger FAQ's and see what I can find.
I don't suppose you will be surprised to know my favourite is the wheels and wires.
Blogger and photos - may I make a suggestion? Don't try moving them on the page. It is, indeed, a trial. I've discovered the quickest (and by far the easiest thing) is to remove the one you want to move and re-insert it in its new position. The pictures you have just uploaded stay on the upload page until you publish and, if you want to change them after that, easily re-accessed from the Picassa Album (through the list on the left on that same page).
I used to go wild with the layout for Loose and Leafy (http://looseandleafy.blogspot.com/) until I realised all I had to do was to take them off and put them on again - and I went back to being enthusiastic about Blogger.
(Windows 7 is another matter - you can't arrange the pictures in the order you want within a folder without re-naming. If you (or anyone) knows how to work with that - tips and ideas would be ENORMOUSLY welcome!.)
Lucy
P.S. Fiji!
Lucy: Those are actually the controls for the fire sprinkler system of this bulding. they have electrical switches sitting on top waiting to put out any fire that may start. Yes I am using Windows 7 as well. Thanks for your tip on photos and Blogger!
yes...Fiji!!!
