Today's Apocalypse Sign: The Weekend In Black And White

A photo from my walk in Belize City. June 2012

No. 5

I think this captures the essence of the hardscrabble existence in this city

Johanna, Alex, Pat: Thanks. It didn't turn out quite as I wanted but then I am my own harshest critic. I do enjoy B&W photography.

A perfect B&W photo!

This is the sort of detail that I go looking for as I pad the streets of my own city.

Hi Chuck - on the outside looking in .. or is it looking out - true black and white .. Love the name - cork would be softer wouldn't it ..

Cheers Hilary

I think this works very well in black and white, you get to see the gritty side here. I like it a lot!

Looks good to me -- I'm always lucky not to block the lens with one of my fingers...

HansHB: I like the shots I see on your site as well. B&W is so much fun, really.

Julie: I was very bummed I had a problem with my SD card and only got about 10 or 12 shots in Belize City...on my only chance to be in town. Always carry a spare!

Hilary: Where I saw the street sign I thought it kind of evoked thoughts of Ireland...but nothing around this looked anything like site in Ireland I'm sure.

Monica: Thanks twice!!

Dragonstar: You have such a good eye for B&W photos...I value your comments. Thanks.

Nellies: Thanks. The wide shot of the whole front of the house really showed the grittiness...except for the out of place newer car in the drive.

Robyn: I may need to blush now...you are as always too kind.

Milo: Funny you mention that as I did exactly that with my camera phone taking a picture of my dog today!!
