Today's Apocalypse Sign: Some Marketing Campaigns Are NOT Genius!

Has anybody ever watched the Forensic Files on TruTV? The distinct voice of the narrator is perfect for the show. His descriptions of torture, mutilation, decomposing bodies, and the family's pain and suffering are gripping and set just right for this show. It is haunting listening to him describe a crime scene and the evidence within. As he unravels the police progress on the case, tension builds. You would think he is in the perfect element for his voice.

Tell me why is he now describing the new chicken sandwiches from Burger King on TV? Next time you see one of the ads, tell me I'm wrong. All I see is bits and pieces of every grisly episode of the Forensic Files ground up into chicken sandwiches. They do not sound appetizing at all in these ads.  I am sure I will never eat one. Oh yeah, and who ever did the text graphic for the video below couldn't even spell Burger...WTF!

Some marketing gurus just aren't.

Opinions?

I have met neither the programme nor the advert. You know how people say in comments they have been laughing aloud? I never believe them. Reading this, my laughter drew family to ask what I was reading. Believe me.

I have seen the Forensic show but not the commercial. I don't think I'll eat one either :)

Doesn't make me want to rush out to Burger King. Of course, the creepy, plastic face of the King squashed that urge years ago.

Yeah, that doesn't sound like such a smart move! We already wonder what we are really eating at fast food places...

Lucy: Your comment made ME laugh! Really.

Jules: The first time I heard the commercial I was in the kitchen and just listening to the TV. I immediately recognized the voice and walked in to see the commercial. I said, "you've gotta be kidding me!.

Alex: Yeah, their ad campaigns I think are run by marketing students fresh from school. I believe I could do a better job with NO marketing degree! The King is stupid and lasted way longer than I ever thought it would. At least Jack from Jack In The Box talks...and is funny!

Pat: And that is why I have stopped eating at fast food places short of being in a diabetic coma!
