Today's Apocalypse Sign: Another iPod Beginning To My Week
I know it's not the latest and greatest version of the iPod but hey...it was free and holds 8 gig of music and sounds great. Good enough for me.
Since today felt like a Monday after this holiday weekend, I decided in a rather kingly fashion, that I would begin each week with an iPod listen when I got home from work. I figure this accomplishes a couple of things: 1) fairly easy and entertaining post and 2) I get to start my week rocking in random fashion.
So for now iPod Monday is born from the ashes of rock 'n roll and presented here for your listening pleasure. If you pick up a new or forgotten artist to enjoy all the better.
Tonight's five random iPod listens were as follows:
1. AC/DC - Squealer (Bon Scott version) (a lesser played track and a little racy, so ladies be warned or curious) RIP Bon
2. Lynyrd Skynyrd - Simple Kind Of Man (Ronnie Van Zandt version) (one of my favs back in high school) RIP Ronnie
3. Van Halen - The Cradle Will Rock (Diamond Dave frontin') (I wore a rut in this song when the album came out)Eddie Van Halen showing his chops!!
4. AC/DC - High Voltage (Live) (double dose of the electrically ambiguous band!!) the sync between sound and video is a little lacking but I had to find a Bon Scott live version!
5. Candlebox - Far Behind (This could be the first CD on which I loved every song)

Four old school and Candlebox! This could be an interesting series, Chuck.
Alex: Not sure it is overly original but it's fun! Now that I have over 17,000 songs uploaded to iTunes it could be a long series!
Hi Chuck .. well I might get educated in this series .. 17,000 itunes ... crumbs - that'll keep heaven in music too!!
Cheers Hilary
Your iPod is 4x better than mine, gig-wise. Nice tuneage, dude.
Hilary: It is a mountain of music for sure. And a variety too!
Milo: I have been looking at a 32-gig iPod Touch but not sure I need to spend that much. There will be plenty to check out in future weeks.
I finally broke down and got me a cheap I-pod for when we travel. Hubby hates listening to the radio and we take turns driving and sleeping. So the I-pod seen the best solution.
True to my ineptness for electronics I screwed it up while trying to download music to it. Had to get the grandson to straighten out my mess. But, he had a hard time downloading the music for me because he had never heard of any of the songs I wanted.
Why can't I just plug my eight-track into the car speakers? Duh!
Yep....know 'em all. It's what was happenin' back then. They just don't make songs like this anymore. Sad. Good thing we have iPods, CD [does anyone but me still use them?]...and YOUTUBE.
Great post. Started my day right, you did.
And in regards to your question you left in my comments yesterday...yes, I do believe that was the same storm that hit Galveston.
Interesting assortment of songs there. My iPod mostly has audiobooks. 160 gigs.
Rita: It took me a bit at first to get the hang of getting the music on this thing. I think it was the part about having to upload to iTunes and download to the iPod that stretched me. Eight-track!!! Boy does that bring back old memories.
Anni: You never fail to surprise...I would not have pegged you for this music. Don't take that wrong as I am often surprised by people! Now that have uploaded half my CD's to iTunes I can now look to get rid of them.
Donna: That's big Ipod!!
That's a bunch of rockers!

Chuck, I love Van Halen! Thanks!!!
Good stuff!
Wow! that's a lot of music on that thing. I need to see how many I have. I don't think it will come close to yours though! Have a great weekend Chuck.
I just looked. I have 24,868 on mine. I'll bet you didn't know that there were that many polka songs... yeehaw!
You're actually way ahead of me. I have yet to put my music on any kind of device. I still use CDs. How embarrassing.

Lee: Yes they are, and thanks for going back to square one to read and leave a comment. You inspired an upcoming post by doing that.
Monti: Both Diamond Dave version and Sammy Hagar version. Just good rockin' music.
Pat: Holy crap! That is a lot of music. Although I didn't count any polka music on mine!!
Stephanie: I still have another 200 CD's to load to iTunes and then I'll be CD free!!
