Today I'm going to take a page from Alex J. Cavanaugh's book (NOT Cassastar but his A-Z theme). And even though this blogger has no real need for my two cents worth to increase her readership or following, I feel Hyperbole And A Half is so awesome, Allie Brosh deserves a shout out.
I discoverd this blog a little over a year ago (not long after starting mine). I found her posts hilarious and her talent with Paint to be quite artistic. At that time she had a decent following and a good amount of comments. Her posts were fairly frequent then and absolutely hilarious. The Spaghatta Nadle series made me laugh my ass off and for weeks I effected the speech of the Nadle. Even when talking to my dogs.
Seriously, read this, this, this, and this,oh yeah and this and try it. I'll eat a noodle if you don't attempt it as well. There is more than these 5 posts (just a couple) but you can discover them on your own. A year ago she was getting 30 - 40 comments.
Fast forward to present. Allie's posts are now sometimes a month apart. You know how the experts say if you want to grow your followers and page visits you have to post often. Well, Allie defies that logic. I have seen her posts in recent times get as many as 400 comments within two hours of being posted. Her last post which is this great childhood story was posted on February 22nd. It received 1113 comments from then until March 8th.
But that is not the awesome part. She has blown up to over 51,000 followers and has had over 70 million page loads. All in less than two years since her blog kicked off.
Please go give her a read. I swear if you have never been to her blog, once you get started reading her posts 2 hours can get away from you real quick. But they are enjoyable hours...unless you are a zombie, have no sense of humor, or have been eaten by a bear-shark. Here are some links to my favorite posts:
** Fun With A Brick
**Texas
**Pain Scale
**Fish
**Alot
**The Party
there are tons more!
{No Allies were harmed in the writing of this post...although I am in awe of her.}

Need to discover her secret!
She's so freaking hilarious. I wish she'd update more often but I guess she's big time now and too busy to blog often :-/
Imagine having so many comments to answer! Oh horrors! I used to read all the comments of previous commenters before adding one of my own but it's become impossible on some blogs so I say what I think and hope it hasn't been said too many times before or has already been contradicted by the writer. Indeed, I've begun not to click for further comments to be posted on to me - which makes me uncomfortable because it seems uncivil. None the less . . .
That that many people read and enjoy her posts - that's another matter and well worthy of celebration and praise.
Fortunately, my blog hasn't reached the dizzy heights of mass verbosity so I value everything people say . . . so don't take my words as suggesting I don't value what's said, I do! Definitely.
(And I still click to have comments sent on from here, Chuck.)

Ho! I decided to follow her on your recommendation - but a notice came up to say she already has the maximum number of followers and no more are allowed. I have never come across that before! (Didn't know it was possible!)
Lucy
Thanks for the tip. I'll have to go check it out.
Alex: I watched her grow 50,000 followers in a year. When I first read her blog her comments were maybe 30 to 50. Her humor, writing, and paint art just took off!.
Cake: I believe the length between her posts in related to how much she works in paint. She is really good at it and uses a lot of panels in most of her posts. That is my theory. Plus she lives in Montana.
Lucy: I never knew that was possible either. I will be sure and let you know when she posts new. I am one of the 51,000 mass of followers.
MJ: You won't be disappointed.
I'm going to have to visit her blog and see what all this is about - she sounds amazazing! Thanks for the info.
Very cute!! I must visit this blog...

Doreen: Warning...addiction to it comes quick. Thanks for stopping by and I'm going to visit you site tonight.
WiFi: At least you found her at that's what counts. Thanks for stopping by.
You are right Chuck, her blog is awesome!
Along that line....You are about to break 100 I see! Congrats in advance on that! Will there be any festivities?
Have a good week my friend!
Pat: Very true, it is great. Hell, I missed 200 posts and 50 followers AND my one year anniversary of this blog...I guess the festivities will come when the dust settles from this month's challenge...unless I procrastinate some more!
