Below is the original unretouched photo that became the current header for my blog. I promised it a week or so ago and TS reminded in his comment that I hadn't shown it yet. I immediately saw the face in this tree while I was out for a walk one morning. I was on Christmas vacation and just enjoying the snow, cold crisp air, and the blessed silence (except for birds).

Then I had to stumble on this tragedy.

That is wicked cool. Not the tires, the tree. It really looks like a face.
Man that is a tragedy!

Not only does it look like a face, it looks like a face that scares the shit out of me. Like a zombie is standing outside my frosted bathroom window...
In other words, I love it...
TS: The the woods were kind of "stalker-movie quiet" that morning and several sudden noises were rather startling. This picture just made the moment.
Jules: There were hundreds of tires dummped here. We have turned my pictures over to the authorities in town to investigate. Ruined an otherwise idyllic setting. Although snow makes everything look better!
Pat: Thanks! Winter provides lots of opportunity for your imagination to run wild. Snow makes for a nice canvas that mother nature can create her art.
that is one creepy face in that tree. I'm going to have nightmares about it.
PTM: It was a little spooky just walking around the woods. When I found the tires I immediately steeled myself for a Deliverance-like showdown with some hobos.
