This the lighthouse at the mouth of the Cleveland harbor on Lake Erie. The actual lighthouse and the ajoining small house was completely encased in frozen spray from the lake. The second picture shows the lake was frozen from the shore to the breakwater where the the lighthouse stood.
It looks like someone dunked the whole thing in white chocolate and set it on display.
It was really fucking cold taking these pictures! The wind was blowing at least 20mph from the the north (thanks Canada!) I had to steady myself against a tree to get these shots. As I was a leaving, an older man with a tripod and 3 camera bags was making his way down to the shore. I wonder if he made it out alive?

That is stunning! Edi's Book Lighthouse posted a video of a lighthouse like this encased in ice.
Maybe by next spring they will find that old dude.
WOW! Enlarging made them look even more amazing. That is frigging cold!
BRRRRR!!!!!!!
Alex: I checked out that blog but could not find the video? I would hate to think of somebody trapped in that frozen tomb.
Pat: It was a pretty surreal site with no color anywhere around me. I got a couple more pics coming from the lake further west of Cleveland at my hometown.
