The Weekend In Black And White

Winter seems to present endless artful opportunities for photography. It maybe my favorite B&W season. This shot of snow collecting on a windless day made me think of, what else...

I thought it was a stair gate when it came up. Then saw.

Dazzled by your header.

Alex: Thanks Alex!

Johanna: It was so quiet as this snow was falling...no wind...eerie actually.

Lucy: Snow scenes are sometimes optical illusions...thanks on the header...it is tweaked photo of a fire in my sister's fireplace!

PTM: Good, you will still be able to take of the baby.

Carver: I saw the fencing in your B&W! Great minds, huh?

Yes, you're right! Well spotted!

In response to your question on mine, it's a detail of a dry-stone wall caged for safety. I've added an explanatory photo.

They DO look like q-tips. My goodness. I would've never seen it without your hint.

As for the camera I bought, it's a NIKON P150 with a 42 zoom -- Just a hand held digital with non-detachable lens. I took photos of the moon last night and got even the topography of it ...awesome.

Dragonstar: Thank you on both counts!

Anni: Thanks for the info on your camera...I would love to see the photos of the moon that you took.

Harbor: Thanks!

Irene: Thank you for the education. I love learning about things people photograph. It was a great shot.

Monti: Thanks. The blog header is a shot of a fireplace at my sisters house that I manipulated in paint.net. Thanks again.
