Alex: I will have to kind of reconstruct how the log fits the stump. This is the tree I posted some time ago that has four separate trunks and one broke off in a severe wind storm. The tree caught morning and afternoon sun so I'm still not sure why the rings are like they are. I will probably obssess on it until I find out! I like to know the answers to natures puzzles from time to time.

Since logging is my province's biggest export I should probably know this, but I've got nothing.
Maybe it's a NYer tree.
