The Weekend In Black And White

This past week I had a rare chance to be out of the office for the day. On the trip back home I decided to stop by the local lake (White Rock Lake in Dallas). The day was awesome...warm, sunny, and lots of activity of people feeding the ducks. Good day for some photography. And I had my camera bag with me.

One couple and their small child were feeding the ducks and for some reason the parents let this young boy bring his basketball with him. And here is how that turned out....

Adrift (Wilson's older brother*)

Great shot! Glad you got out of the office. And yes, saw that ending a mile away. What sad is I bet those parents purchased another ball on the way home rather than telling him "It's gone now."

Somehow I'm not surprised by the end result :)

Oh oh, bye bye basketball. But there's always Wilson.
Have a perfect weekend.

Good shot and somewhat poignant. I hope the child gets his ball back.

OH, dear....hope the child was not crying and that someone got the ball. The shot itself is wonderful...so full of detail. genie

Alex: The dad spent the better part of 20 minutes trying to keep the kid from kicking it in the water. As soon as I got out of the car I knew this would end badly.

Johanna: You could see it coming... the young mother just kind of let it happen I think.

Manzanita: Yep, they left without it.

Carver: Unless he has another one at home, his dad would have to buy him a new one.

Genie: Thank you. I am sure someone will get the ball when it lands on shore!

Monica: Yes it did turn out well, thanks.

PTM: Yep, that's what I said. Moment of inspiration.

Hi Chuck .. poor kid - he won't understand ... no and losing your ball don't go together ... how many times do we try and rescue misadventured toys!

Lucky you having such lovely weather ..

Cheers Hilary
