...to paraphrase an old Sonny and Cher tune. It looks like we will for sure will hit 60 days of triple-digit heat, for this summer, by the end of the week. I am sure it will continue into next week and threaten the 1980 record of 69 days. There has been virtually no rain to speak of for almost two months now. All the lake levels in north Texas are so low the boat ramps are several feet ABOVE the water level. Boating is dangerous simply because the low levels have brought sand bars and tree stumps in to play everywhere. Even diving off a boat can be hazardous.
In an obviously voodoo-minded attempt to bring a cooling effect to my corner of the blogging world, I have even gone so far as to "chill out" my formerly fire and brimstone blog header. The cooler blue color just might help. Anyway, its worth a try.
How are you coping with the heat where you are? Like this maybe...

That comic is hilarious! I notice that while you changed your header, the background is still flames. But I feel your pain (almost) and would like to quote from my favorite band's live album, "This song's called, it's so hot I'm gonna have a heat stroke."
Stay thirsty? No, stay cool my friend.
And also thirsty.
Our heat is on the way; SoCal usually gets it in September, just in time for school.
You guys are really getting it bad! It's finally cooled off here. And we'll be getting rain when the hurricane hits this weekend.
TS: Yeah, I didn't want to change the whole template so I opted for the header...must have worked we got rain today around 6PM! Crazy stuff huh?
MJF: You mean the 70's right?? Or just the heat from the wildfires!
Alex: If you are near hurricane areas you will probably get the rain you need! And it rained here today! Just now.
PTM: You are are a bit off aren't you?
Hmmm.
England is still fucking freezing.
And it feels even colder having just got back from somewhere hot.
I will try and be sympathetic though...
Nope. Can't manage it.
Cowgirl: Try harder. Isn't England always that way? Cracks me up watching The Open golf championship in mid-July where all the golfers are usually bundled up like December in 30-mph winds. Crazy.
